LUFTHANSA LAUNCHES MORE CAPE TOWN FLIGHTS

LUFTHANSA has released its winter timetable and will be increasing flights between Frankfurt and Cape Town. From October 30, the carrier will be operating daily flights up from the previous three per week.

MORE FLIGHT OPTIONS FOR US PASSENGERS

PASSENGERS in the United States will from November, have more options to fly to Johannesburg via Washington Dulles, when SAA and United Airlines begin operating a code-share agreement. Passengers will be able to fly from San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, Los Angeles and Las Vegas to Washington Dulles and from there connect to Johannesburg. SAA’s codeshare agreement with Delta into Atlanta will continue for now, according to Delta’s London office.

FIVE WEEKLY CPT-LHR FLIGHTS FOR VIRGIN

VIRGIN ATLANTIC Airways is increasing its current service between London and Cape Town for the SA summer season. Between December 7 and January 25, 2006, a third flight leaving London or Cape Town on a Thursday midday will be added. From January 29, until the end of the peak summer season, March 25, flights will increase to five per week. Flights depart Cape Town on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 23H10, arriving at Heathrow at 09H25 the next day. The service will be operated with an Airbus 340-300.

SAA FLIES TO LIVINGSTONE

SAA has launched a service from Johannesburg to Livingstone, Zambia. Flight SA048 leaves Johannesburg on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 13H25 arriving in Livingstone at 15H15. Return flight, SA049, departs at 16H15, arriving in Johannesburg at 18H05. The flight will be operated either with the A319 or B737-800 aircraft.

SAA GOES DAILY FRANKFURT – CPT

SAA launched daily non-stop flights between Cape Town and Frankfurt on September 12, just over a year since it went thrice weekly on the route.
